Hello!

I'm Rebecca Peters. You can also call me Becks.

During the day, I work as a professional health policy nerd – I study how to make the healthcare system work better, especially for those who it fails to serve (in the U.S., that includes low-income communities, people existing outside the gender binary, and people without insurance). I'm also really interested in medical anthropology, and how people define health and illness for themselves.

I grew up in the Bay Area, and am currently living in San Francisco. Before I moved back to California, I spent about a decade between Boston and Washington, DC. I also once won tickets to the World Cup in South Africa and spent ten months finding my way from Jakarta to Johannesburg.
